Violent confrontations continue to escalate in the West Bank amid Israeli operations in Gaza
On January 8, 2024, Israeli forces shot and killed three Palestinians during an operation in Tulkarm, a city in the occupied West Bank. According to the Palestinian health ministry, the deaths are part of an ongoing wave of violence in the region, which has seen increasing tensions since the Hamas-led assault on Israel in October 2023. The West Bank, already experiencing some of the most intense unrest in years, has become a focal point of conflict, especially as Israel ramps up military actions against Gaza.
