Erdoğan Calls for Immediate Halt to Israeli Bombardments on Gaza

Turkey’s President Urges Israel to End Strikes and End the Humanitarian Crisis in Gaza

Turkey’s President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan has condemned Israel’s continued military strikes on Gaza, calling on Israel to stop the “madness” of the ongoing bombardments. In a statement on X (formerly known as Twitter), Erdoğan criticized the Israeli attacks, which he said were once again targeting women, children, and innocent civilians, exacerbating the humanitarian crisis in Gaza.

“The Israeli bombardments on Gaza intensified last night and once again targeted women, children and innocent civilians and worsened the ongoing humanitarian crisis,” Erdoğan stated. He urged immediate cessation of the strikes and called on people to attend a rally in Istanbul’s Atatürk Airport to show solidarity with Palestine.

The president’s remarks come amid the heaviest airstrikes in Gaza since the conflict began, with Israeli forces targeting over 150 Hamas-related sites. The ongoing strikes have caused significant casualties and damage to infrastructure, with the World Health Organization (WHO) reporting a communication blackout in Gaza, making it impossible to contact their staff or health facilities.

As the conflict escalates, global calls for an end to the violence and a resolution to the humanitarian disaster continue to grow.
