Ben Wallace asserts that Russia is unlikely to succeed in occupying Ukraine, citing significant losses.
At a European defence ministers’ meeting in Copenhagen, UK Defence Secretary Ben Wallace stated that Russia’s invasion of Ukraine is “starting to fail” and that Moscow is unlikely to ever succeed in occupying the country. Wallace highlighted that Russian forces have suffered significant losses in both equipment and personnel, and their military focus has shifted mainly to the southern and eastern regions of Ukraine, far from their original ambitions. Despite continued fighting, Wallace emphasized that international support for Ukraine is stronger than ever, with more financial, military, and training pledges to help Ukraine maintain its sovereignty and resist Russian aggression.
