The devastating crowd surge at the Houston festival, which claimed 10 lives, has led to multiple legal settlements
Almost all the wrongful death lawsuits stemming from the 2021 Astroworld festival tragedy have been settled, except for one claim involving the youngest victim, Ezra Blount, aged nine. On Wednesday, Live Nation’s attorney Neal Manne confirmed that nine of the lawsuits had been resolved, with details of the settlements remaining sealed by court order.
The tragic incident occurred on November 5, 2021, during the festival in Houston, Texas, headlined by rapper Travis Scott. A chaotic crowd surge, which occurred among the 50,000 attendees, resulted in a stampede, leading to 10 fatalities and up to 300 injuries. The remaining lawsuit, filed by the family of Madison Dubiski, 23, was approaching jury selection when news of the settlements broke.
