Water Pipe Rupture Leads to Damage and Business Interruptions in Marine Parade

On October 4, 2024, parts of Marine Parade were flooded after a construction crew accidentally ruptured an underground water pipe. The incident occurred around 11:30 a.m. while workers were conducting shoring work at Block 67 Marine Drive. As a result, residents and motorists navigated through ankle-deep waters, while local business owners faced disruptions. Abdul Rawoof, the owner of a convenience store at Block 67, shared that he had to shut off electrical appliances and move goods, as some items, particularly carton boxes on the floor, were damaged due to the flooding. This incident has affected the business operations in the area.
