Seasoned private equity professional brings 28 years of experience to guide VCI Global’s growth strategy.
KUALA LUMPUR, Malaysia – VCI Global Limited (NASDAQ: VCIG) (Frankfurt: H0T), a leading diversified holding company specializing in consulting, fintech, AI, robotics, and cybersecurity, has appointed Victor Lee as its new Executive Director, effective November 1, 2024. This leadership change is part of the company’s strategic realignment to better navigate an evolving business landscape.
Victor Lee succeeds Marco Baccanello, bringing nearly three decades of expertise in private equity, growth capital, venture capital, distressed assets, and cryptocurrency. During his 19-year tenure at Franklin Templeton, Mr. Lee held key roles in private equity and alternative strategies, including serving as Managing Director and Co-Head of Private Equity for North Asia. His contributions were pivotal in deal origination and strategy formulation across regions such as North Asia, Turkey, and Central Asia.
Earlier in his career, Mr. Lee gained valuable experience with UBS Group AG, CLSA Capital Partners, and Mizuho Securities Asia Limited, specializing in leveraged buyouts and private equity transactions. In 2024, he founded Novacle Ventures Ltd., focusing on distressed investments globally. Additionally, Mr. Lee serves as Vice Chairman of the Global Investment Fund, a platform for the World Trade United Foundation, affiliated with the United Nations.

Mr. Lee holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration with a focus on professional accountancy from the Chinese University of Hong Kong and is a Fellow of the UK-based Association of Chartered and Certified Accountants (ACCA).
