Curtis Jones Shines as Liverpool Edge Past Chelsea in Tight Contest

A Decisive Performance Leads Liverpool to a 2-1 Victory at Anfield

Curtis Jones proved instrumental in Liverpool’s 2-1 triumph over Chelsea, scoring the decisive goal and earning a penalty that Mohamed Salah converted for the opener. Despite Chelsea’s efforts, including a second-half equalizer by Nicolas Jackson, Liverpool’s resilience secured them three valuable points.

The match began with high energy, and Liverpool struck first in the 29th minute when Jones was fouled in the box. Mohamed Salah stepped up and calmly converted the penalty, giving the hosts a 1-0 lead at halftime. However, Chelsea responded quickly after the break, with Jackson finding the net in the 47th minute to level the score.

Liverpool regained control just five minutes later, as Jones capitalized on a defensive lapse to score the winning goal. Chelsea pressed for another equalizer but couldn’t break through Liverpool’s solid backline.

The Reds’ lineup featured notable contributions from Trent Alexander-Arnold and Virgil van Dijk, while substitute Darwin Núñez replaced Diogo Jota early after an injury scare. For Chelsea, Cole Palmer and Reece James showed promise, but their efforts fell short against a determined Liverpool side.
