Israel Pounds 250 Gaza Targets in 24 Hours Amid Escalating Conflict

Israel’s military intensified its bombardment of Gaza, claiming to have struck around 250 targets in a single day as the ongoing conflict with Hamas entered its second month. The strikes, which have resulted in widespread devastation, hit residential areas in Rafah, a town near the southern border with Egypt, where at least 20 people were killed, including women and children. Many of the casualties were from two homes that were directly targeted.

The situation in Gaza has become dire, with over 1.87 million people displaced, many forced to live in makeshift shelters. With the ongoing airstrikes and mounting casualties, the UN has warned of a breakdown in public order as the humanitarian crisis deepens. In just the past 24 hours, more than 350 Palestinians have been killed, and thousands more have been injured.

The health ministry in Gaza reports that over 17,000 people have lost their lives since the conflict escalated, with the majority being women and children. Thousands more are believed to be trapped under rubble as the fighting continues.
