“Nintendo Delays Release of Switch 2 to 2025”

“Game publishers informed that next-gen console will now launch in Q1 2025 instead of late 2024.”

Nintendo has informed game publishers that the release of its highly anticipated next-generation console, the successor to the popular Nintendo Switch, will be delayed until the first quarter of 2025. The console was initially scheduled for launch in late 2024, but sources familiar with the matter have revealed that publishers were recently notified of the delay.

The seven-year-old Nintendo Switch, which has sold over 132 million units, is nearing the end of its product life cycle. Despite its success, Nintendo has remained tight-lipped about details concerning its successor. Initially, many expected the new console to arrive in time for the 2024 holiday season, but the company has now revised its timeline.

The delay was first reported by the Video Games Chronicle. Nintendo’s U.S. representatives did not respond to requests for comment.
