Obama Critiques Trump’s Economy Boasts as Walz Labels McDonald’s Visit a ‘Stunt’

Campaign trail heats up with rallies, endorsements, and sharp exchanges ahead of the US elections.

MADISON, WI – Former President Barack Obama and Minnesota Governor Tim Walz joined forces at a rally in Wisconsin on Tuesday (Oct 22), taking aim at Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump while rallying support for Democratic nominee Kamala Harris.

Obama criticized Trump’s claims about economic achievements, asserting, “Don’t be nostalgic for Trump’s economy. It was mine.” His remarks were met with cheers from the crowd as he emphasized Democratic contributions to economic stability during his tenure.

Governor Walz, meanwhile, ridiculed Trump’s recent publicized visit to a McDonald’s, calling it a “stunt” and questioning the former president’s sincerity in connecting with everyday workers. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez also weighed in, accusing Trump of mocking fast-food employees with his appearance.

The rally featured an appearance by actor Bradley Whitford, who urged attendees to mobilize for Harris, emphasizing voter turnout. “If we knock on doors, man phones, and get out every vote, we’re going to win,” he declared to enthusiastic applause.

Harris, campaigning in Texas, also made headlines with a focus on reproductive rights and small business support, while reports suggest her team is bracing for a tight election with concerns about the “blue wall” in battleground states.

As the race intensifies, musical icons like Bruce Springsteen and Eminem have joined the campaign trail to galvanize young voters. The coming weeks are expected to see heightened activity from both parties, with polls showing a neck-and-neck contest.
