The royal couple provides a new home for Sinkie, Ellen’s rescued hen.
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have welcomed a new feathered friend into their home: Sinkie, a chicken previously owned by Ellen DeGeneres. On January 13, DeGeneres shared on Instagram that Sinkie had been relocated due to an injury and ongoing issues with other hens. Fortunately, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex offered their coop, and Sinkie has since joined their growing family of rescued animals.
DeGeneres expressed her gratitude for Harry and Meghan’s kindness, explaining that while Sinkie’s leg had healed, she still faced challenges in the original chicken coop. The couple’s new charge now has a place at “Archie’s Chick Inn,” named after their children Archie and Lilibet.
Harry and Meghan have developed a deep passion for rescuing animals since moving to California in 2020, including their three rescue dogs: Pula, Guy, and Mia. Markle, in particular, has a long-standing commitment to animal rescue, having adopted her first dog in 2012 with help from Ellen.
The bond between the two couples goes back several years, including their attendance at DeGeneres’ surprise vow renewal ceremony in February 2023.
