Mahrez’s first-half penalty and second-half brace propel City to a 3-0 victory over Sheffield United.

Riyad Mahrez scored a remarkable hat-trick to send Manchester City into their 12th FA Cup final with a commanding 3-0 win over Sheffield United. The Algerian winger’s superb performance marked the first semi-final hat-trick in the competition since 1958, securing City’s place in the final in style.

The match saw Mahrez open the scoring just before the break, converting a penalty in the 43rd minute after a foul in the box. Early in the second half, Mahrez doubled the lead with a well-taken strike in the 61st minute before sealing his hat-trick in the 66th minute, finishing off a fast-paced counter-attack to cap an outstanding individual display.

Sheffield United, despite showing determination, were unable to break down City’s defense, leaving Manchester City to comfortably cruise to victory. City’s dominance on the pitch was evident as they never looked back after Mahrez’s opening goal.

After the match, City manager Pep Guardiola praised Mahrez for his “special quality” and “huge mentality,” emphasizing the importance of the first-half penalty. Guardiola also acknowledged the tough demands of the season but expressed pride in his team’s ability to fight for titles year after year.

With the victory, Manchester City now await their opponent in the FA Cup final, continuing their pursuit of silverware under Guardiola’s leadership.
