Moscow claims that placing Russia on the US list of state sponsors of terrorism could sever diplomatic ties irreparably.
Russia has warned the United States that designating it as a “state sponsor of terrorism” could be a diplomatic “point of no return,” potentially resulting in the collapse of diplomatic relations between the two nations. Alexander Darchiev, head of the Russian foreign ministry’s North American Department, emphasized that such a move would carry severe consequences, including the possibility of the US seizing Russian assets. Darchiev criticized US actions, claiming they were damaging international law and violating diplomatic norms. Meanwhile, tensions remain high as Russia accuses the US of increasingly becoming involved in the ongoing conflict in Ukraine.
