Russia Targets Western-Supplied Tanks in Kyiv Airstrikes

Moscow warns of more strikes if arms deliveries continue, while Ukrainian officials dispute the claims of tank destruction.

On Sunday, Russia launched airstrikes on Kyiv for the first time in five weeks, targeting what it claimed were western-supplied T-72 tanks. The strikes hit the eastern Kyiv suburbs of Darnytskyi and Dniprovskyi, injuring one person. Russia’s Ministry of Defence stated that the tanks, provided by European nations, were stored in a car repair facility. However, Ukrainian officials, including the head of the national railways, denied the presence of such tanks at the targeted site. Russian President Vladimir Putin warned of more airstrikes if military deliveries to Ukraine continue, escalating tensions further in the ongoing conflict.
