Singapore has secured the 5th spot in the prestigious Resonance Consultancy’s annual ranking of the world’s best cities, outshining many global metropolises. London topped the list, followed by New York, Paris, and Tokyo, with Singapore standing as the highest-ranking Asian city. The city-state’s remarkable rise from a trading port to a modern urban hub is highlighted in the report, which praises Singapore for its world-class shopping and dining offerings.
Known for its bustling shopping scene, Singapore ranks 12th globally for retail, with Orchard Road and Mustafa Centre earning special mention. Dining in Singapore also earns recognition, with the city ranked 19th for restaurants. The mix of Michelin-starred hawker stalls and fine dining options gives visitors a unique culinary experience.
The report also commended Singapore’s economic prosperity and ambitious urban plans, including its status as a tech hub and further developments at Marina Bay Sands. Additionally, the city’s focus on sustainability, with green spaces and smart urban districts, was noted, as well as plans to expand its infrastructure like the Changi East Industrial Zone and mega port in Tuas.
