MI6 Warns of Security Risks, Drone Strikes Continue Across Ukraine
As the Ukraine-Russia conflict persists, MI6 head Richard Moore cautioned against abandoning Ukraine, emphasizing the threat to transatlantic security if Vladimir Putin succeeds in peace talks favoring Russia. Speaking in Paris, Moore accused Russia of nuclear intimidation and sabotage campaigns targeting Europe.
Overnight, Russia launched more than 100 drones, killing one person in Kherson and injuring eight others across regions including Odesa and Kyiv, where infrastructure and residential buildings suffered damage. Meanwhile, Moscow claimed territorial gains in Ukraine’s Donbas region, seizing the village of Rozdolne, and reported intercepting 47 Ukrainian drones.
In Russia, a fire erupted at an industrial site in Rostov following an alleged Ukrainian drone strike on an oil depot. Simultaneously, Ukraine targeted Russian air defense in Zaporizhzhia, according to military reports. Power outages continue to affect Ukrainian regions like Mykolaiv, where 70% of residents face their second day without electricity due to attacks on energy infrastructure.
